Read What Our Students at Towson Are Saying...
A Training Center is only as good as the students that fill its classrooms.  If our students are not successful, we are not successful.   Below are just a few of the many student success stories happening at ComputerTraining.com at Towson, Maryland LLC.

"Before starting at ComputerTraining.com, I had mainframe experience but was self taught on personal computers and networking. I was working in retail for various companies in management capacities. I wanted to get into the networking field but was never given the chance because I did not have the degree or certifications behind me. I was in a rut and tired of working holidays and weekends. I was tired of always missing my daughter and wife. My daughter was growing up so fast and I was not there to watch and enjoy it. I finally said enough is enough. I heard the radio commercials and thought, “Why can't I do that?” my answer was obvious, I could do it.

I received my MCP certification and completed my training in only six months. I had a great instructor and a great career services person behind me in my career search. I quickly started working for a non-profit organization that values me as an important and integral part of their staff. I have the respect I felt I deserved but never received in past jobs. This recent holiday I was home for the first time with my wife and daughter. I owe it all to ComputerTraining.com. They changed my life in ways I only could have hoped for.

I would recommend this course to anyone who is unhappy with their current job and is willing to commit to changing their lives for the better. I thank ComputerTraining.com everyday I go to work. How many people can honestly say they can't wait to get to work? I can."

"Even with a college degree and technical support experience, I was having trouble finding a job in the IT field. Employers did not seem to want to waste their time interviewing anyone who did not have technical certifications. With that realization I set out to find the certification program that was right for me and ComputerTraining.com was it. At six months it is the perfect length to cover all of the material at a reasonable pace without turning your brain into complete mush. I was impressed with the curriculum and by what the current students had to say about the program, I signed up on a Saturday afternoon and was sitting in the first class two days later on that Monday night.

Within a few weeks after starting the course and updating my resume to include the ComputerTraining.com program, I started receiving interviews and job offers. I was now in the driver's seat of my career with options to choose from. A few weeks later, I started working in the IT department of a bank as a Technical Analyst.

My employer told me that I landed the job and beat out the other applicants because my enrollment in ComputerTraining.com's program proved I was dedicated to learning new things and keeping up with the latest technology. Even though I had only earned my MCP certification at my start date, they believed in my potential based on my confidence and the reputation of ComputerTraining.com's program.

I soon found that ComputerTraining.com's course material was perfectly complementing what was required to perform my responsibilities on the job. I was taking what I learned in class and applying it to work and taking what I learned in work and applying it to class.

I remained dedicated to keeping up with the course until the end and was able to achieve the Perfect Attendance award as well as the Early Achiever award when I earned my MCSE certification. Our instructor promoted a great learning environment which led to many friendships in the class and she really kept us going with encouragement and motivation. Now I am responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting my company's network as well as planning for our migration to Active Directory and future growth strategies. What's next for me? I plan to go for the Security specialization to my MCSE and also go for the MCDBA certification to help out in my company's big SQL projects and possibly some Cisco certifications as well. Taking what I've learned from ComputerTraining.com I know I can achieve my goals. ComputerTraining.com provides the resources you need to achieve whatever level of certification you desire and I am proof that with determination comes success."

"I have an extensive electronics background courtesy of the U.S. Navy. I was a Radar Technician in the Navy for over 4 years. When I was discharged in 2001, I was faced with being unable to utilize my military training to secure a position working in the Electronics field. After a number of jobs in various Sales positions (my back-up plan), I chose to go back to college and earn my degree in IT. I chose IT because it is ever evolving, in a constant state of change, and in high demand. The most influential factor for my choice was that there are always opportunities to learn something new when working in IT. If one position becomes stagnant, there are a hundred new, different varieties of positions available. The field is so vast, there will never be a time that I will “Know it All” and become bored.

Specifically, I chose to pursue my MCSE certification due to its marketability and flexibility in the field. I am currently working as a Messaging Engineer, a Tier 2 Tech Support position, for a company that specializes in Email, Voicemail, and Paperless Fax Applications. These products integrate with Microsoft Exchange, Domino, and every type of phone system known to man. We are involved in every step of the process from the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of our customers email, voicemail and/ or fax systems. The thing I love most about my job is that I am able to work with vastly different systems on a regular basis. As our products integrate with so many various configurations, we are constantly exposed to new and diverse systems. Aside from working in Tech Support, I also double as the company’s System Administrator for our internal network. I wear many hats on a regular basis, and I love every minute of it.

My biggest worry coming into the MCSE training course related specifically to my marketability once I achieved my MCSE. Would a company hire me with only 6 months of training? I overcame that by staying on course, taking my exams, and putting my resume, specifically my Navy experience and sales background, to good use. I marketed myself as a well rounded individual that could excel in any number of different fields.
I exhibited my intense drive and motivation by achieving my MCSE within 3 months of taking my first exam. I never faltered, and went after my goal with everything I had in me. I managed to land my job right before I achieved my MCSA, two months before graduating from ComputerTraining.com. The most important advice I can give anyone entering this program is to learn everything you can, focus on your goals, and remember above all, that this is only the beginning."

"Prior to joining ComputerTraining.com, I was always interested in computers. As a matter of fact, I can think of nothing else I was ever into more than that. I'd been working in the computer field for 7 years and had several low-end jobs managing networks and doing consulting and troubleshooting with technical support. I was always overworked and underpaid.

I joined ComputerTraining.com as a bored Network Administrator managing 300 computers on a Windows 2000 network with no certifications making 28k per year. With no opportunities in sight, I decided to take the plunge. I'd taken several courses before, but never any that were as 'me' centric and focused on my success and understanding of the subject matter. I was never really brave enough to bone-up and take the Microsoft and Cisco Exams. But with my instructor’s guidance and support, I felt more confident in my abilities.

Within two months I'd passed three Microsoft Exams and also received three CompTia Certifications in Network+ and Computer Hardware and Software as well as Network Security. I immediately knew I wanted to be a trainer and share my knowledge with others. My instructor invited me to join the junior training program at the beginning of the next class. My consulting job had me pinned working 70+ hours a week, which made studying very difficult. But, I gave it my best and managed to pass the exams and come back for the trainer program.

For me, it was never about proving myself to anyone, but always remaining trainable and helping others to gain knowledge of computers and computer networks. Being part of the ComputerTraining.com family made the money almost an afterthought and I never once had any doubt we could do it. I just got my MCSE after the completion of the program and am actively seeking better employment. The experience is one I will never forget and would encourage anyone to share. Honestly, it is the best investment you can ever make in yourself. The computer field is constantly changing and ComputerTraining.com makes keeping up no problem at all."

"My experience going through the training program at ComputerTraining.com was great. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful.  I was working a retail job that only paid out around $30,000 a year.  I was working nights and weekends, sometimes working late one night, then early the next day. This was very tiring, stressful, and I saw no future in it.

My biggest concern when I started the program was that I wouldn’t have enough time to study properly or that I would miss classes because of my work schedule.  After the first couple of weeks I realized it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.  I made it to class on time and I was able to study during my breaks at work.  Shortly after I got my MCP, ComputerTraining.com was able to place me into a job in the IT field.  So that gave me even more time to study.

The thing that I like the most about my new job is that I have a set schedule. I can spend more time with my friends and my time feels like my time. Every company needs IT so I like the job security and the fact that I can move just about anywhere and have an opportunity for a job.

The program has helped me greatly.  I have gone from making a little over $30,000 a year to nearly $50,000 a year.  The new free time that I have found has given me the opportunity to learn even more skills, like web development, and graphic artistry.  My advice for the new students is to try their best to read the chapters before they come into class so that they could get a better understanding while the instructor is teaching it."

"I did not have a very strong computing background going into ComputerTraining.com.  After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps as a communications electronics technician, I had difficulty trying to gain employment in a technical field. It seemed that no one was willing to acknowledge my experience without any civilian certifications. I abandoned all hope and settled for a job in the security field just to pay my bills.

One day, I was sitting at work and an overwhelming feeling, almost like an anxiety attack, came over me. I had realized that I had wasted valuable time to settle for an underachieving, dead end job in order to barely pay my bills. I was searching for instant results with minimal effort. I had been hearing the ComputerTraining.com radio advertisement everyday while traveling to and from work. I finally broke down and took the “Online Skills Challenge”. All I can remember next is sitting in the office, planning my future career field, but still being skeptical about the results.

Now I am a Systems Engineer working for a company that provides consultation and network integration services to companies and contracting agencies that vary in size and mission. My job is always challenging and constantly changing. The constant in my life now is a comfort in knowing that I have regained control. I can enjoy my job, enjoy time with friends and family, pay my bills, and plan my future.  My skills are constantly expanding and so are my options. ComputerTraining.com has catapulted me into a promising future.

I was skeptical about the entire course. Would the time and money invested become another anchor in my finances? How much will I learn? Will I be able to get a job quickly? The answer was not clear to me until Career Services assisted me in landing a job within less than one month after graduation.

My best advice to any current or future student of ComputerTraining.com would be to pay attention. Commit yourself to every learning opportunity. The path may be challenging but the results will be worthwhile.  This can be your life’s turning point."

"I started working as a customer service representative for users of proprietary software suite in early September 2005. I moved to this new position from a research and reporting job with the same company. Both of these positions are with a contractor, which is a volatile and unstable world in which to work. Shortly after beginning this position, I noticed that the position and the team I was working on didn’t provide much opportunity for advancement or growth. In addition to that, after a short while the job ceased to be challenging or exciting. I have a B.S. in Information Systems Management, and some applicable IT background, but the bulk of my professional experience has been all over the map and I have been lacking the skills and certifications most sought after by IT companies and recruiters. This meant that switching to a new position, either with my company or another, but staying in the IT world was going to prove as a bit of a challenge. I heard about ComputerTraining.com on the radio and decided to research it and several other programs online. ComputerTraining.com’s program was the only one to offer the combination of specific training and the timeline that I was seeking. Other programs were either too long or geared towards associate degree programs.

The program was tough right out the gate, but the teacher did a fine job helping us understand the tougher concepts and gave us key tips to focus our studies in preparation for the certification exams. After the first few months, I was able to pass my first test and we were off and running. The tests began to come at a rapid fire pace, but I became more comfortable with the material and maintained focus on preparing for each test. To my own surprise, I was able to complete my MCSE two days before finishing the program.

While I still hold the same position with my company (at least in title), completing my MCSE in such a short amount of time has already opened the door to numerous opportunities for me. Almost immediately after the program ended I was allowed to study for and earn my CCNA on company time. I have also been given permission to study for my Network+ certification. Additionally, I have been given several opportunities to perform additional duties assisting full time IT staff. Soon I’ll be transferring to a new position within the company as a Systems/Network Administrator at our Research and Development Laboratory, which will mean an increase in responsibility as well as an increase in pay. All I needed was an opportunity to prove to my company that I had the capabilities to work in their IT department, and this course has given me that.

This program has already proven to be well worth the time, money, and effort. It’s intimidating and difficult, but if you’re willing to work hard, the program is not only educational but fun. I’d compare the pace of this course to a Master’s level course, minus the writing. The teachers are a great help, and you have to have the ability to motivate yourself and focus on your goal."

"Before going to ComputerTraining.com, I knew enough about computers to get around in a business setting. I could navigate Windows XP pretty well, and figured out the programs I need or wanted to use. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the experience or knowledge needed to change my career.

ComputerTraining.com gave me the hands on experience and knowledge to break into IT. At first, I was worried about the cost of going back to school, but the pay increase and possibilities that have opened up for me have definitely made the investment worthwhile.

When I tell people I got my MCSE in six months, they are amazed. I love troubleshooting issues and helping others learn in my new position. Stay disciplined in your studies, take the tests, and don’t give up. You won’t regret it."

"In June/July 2004, I made a decision that changed my career path for the better. At that time, I was working a dead end job in the construction and contracting industry for a company that was not providing any advancement opportunities. This was a job that I found soon after graduating from Loyola College where I obtained a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems without having any real world experience and formal training in the field.

In the three years following graduation, I worked for the company having no luck and finding that I was not liking what I was doing at the time. Then I made the decision to take a chance at what ComputerTraining.com was offering. I enrolled for the course from July 26, 2004 to January 19, 2005. At the conclusion of the course, I was armed with better knowledge and skills via the hands on learning style of the instructor who provided the knowledge through the methods she used. She not only brought the experience of the real world to the class, but she also applied a professional aspect that is not often observed or recognized in an office setting. I also came away from the training with a better outlook and an enjoyable experience knowing my career will fall into place based upon the knowledge and skill I obtained from the well taught and laid out curriculum.

In March 2005, I was hired by MCI Enterprise Hosting for a technical support position. This position, as I had come to find out, suited my knowledge and abilities. In the months following a period of initial training for the new position, I took up testing, once again. I then studied and obtained two additional certification tests to advance towards the level of MCSE 2003. I currently have obtained the MCSA 2003 certification level and continue to thrive at my current position. With room for advancement and continued advancement in learning and certification, I am looking forward to fulfilling my goal of obtaining the MCSE 2003 level of certification."

"I come from a small town about an hour and a half from the Towson center where I attended ComputerTraining.com. Working part-time as a circulation clerk in the county library and tutoring mathematics on the side for years, my computer background was very limited. I needed a change of pace. The radio station I listened to would play a commercial with the theme, “Redefining education, redefining your future.” It spoke to me that I needed to take action, so I did.

Terrified that I was spending too much money on myself, especially on top of the student loans I already had, I was not eager to commit to the program right away. In fact, it took me a year to finally decide to take the plunge. After talking at length with the admissions counselors, it came down to weighing my options. Either I could stay on the path I was currently or, I could make something more of my future. It was a tough choice to make but there were a couple factors that made the decision a little easier.

First and foremost was the person responsible for training the students, my instructor. Very personable, highly credentialed, and excellent in her presentation of the complex material at hand, I could not help but be persuaded by her teaching ability. Calming my fears through a one-on-one meeting and weekly calls just to check in on me before I started class, I could see that the choice I was making was the right one. The second factor that persuaded me was the career services that ComputerTraining.com offered.  I was introduced to a Career Services specialist, who gave a very thorough discussion of the finer points of resume building and career searching techniques.  I knew I was in good hands. She gave assistance in refining my interviewing skills, and was an integral part in helping me acquire the employment that I currently have.

In terms of the services and overall program that ComputerTraining.com offers along with the quality of training that I received, I am very satisfied with the decision I made. After I graduated from the program, I became a Junior Trainer, assisting with the hands-on labs that the students participate in each class. What an honor! Such an experience helped further my new found career in the IT field. As I was able to troubleshoot problems students had in the labs, with guidance, I gained more confidence. Upon completing my MCSE certification, it was only a matter of time before I found the perfect job. Now I am working alongside other ComputerTraining.com graduates in one of Microsoft’s datacenters in Ashburn, VA. So my advice to new students entering the program is this, be 100% certain that you want to commit to this program because it is not easy, but know that your hard work with pay off in the end.

ComputerTraining.com is the best!"
